Grunddata values privacy and processes customer and user information as necessary to provide, secure, support, and operate the Grunddata Excel Add-in and the Grunddata service.

The Excel Add-in allows authorised users to access and manage data in their organisation’s Grunddata environment directly from Microsoft Excel.

Information we process

Depending on how the service is used, Grunddata may process information required to authenticate users, provide access to the correct environment, operate the service, and support customers. This may include:

name and business email address;
Microsoft Entra ID identifiers, tokens, and related authentication information;
organisation, tenant, and environment information;
technical and diagnostic information, such as IP address, timestamps, Excel or browser information, and service logs; and
data that authorised users load, access, or manage through the Grunddata service.

Grunddata does not receive or store Microsoft account passwords.

Excel Add-in access

The Add-in communicates with the Grunddata service to authenticate the user and to load or submit data when the user requests those actions. It is not intended to collect unrelated workbook contents. Data submitted to Grunddata is processed according to the customer’s configuration, instructions, and applicable customer agreement.

How we use data

We use customer and user data to provide, secure, support, and operate the Grunddata service. We do not sell user or customer data, and we do not use customer data for advertising, profiling, marketing, or unrelated internal purposes.

For information processed on behalf of a Grunddata customer, Grunddata processes that information to deliver the service requested by the customer and in accordance with the applicable customer agreement and data processing agreement.

Microsoft authentication

The Excel Add-in uses Microsoft Entra ID for authentication. Authentication is performed by Microsoft. Grunddata receives tokens and account information required to identify the user and authorise access to the selected Grunddata environment. Microsoft’s processing is governed by Microsoft’s own privacy terms.

Grunddata does not sell personal information or customer data to third parties. Information may be shared with service providers where necessary to operate Grunddata, such as cloud infrastructure, hosting, security, support, and authentication providers, or where disclosure is required by law. Such processing is subject to appropriate contractual and security measures.

Data retention and security

Information is retained for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet contractual requirements, maintain appropriate audit records, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may differ between account information, service logs, support records, and customer data.

Grunddata uses technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure.

International transfers

Where information is processed outside the European Economic Area, Grunddata uses an appropriate legal transfer mechanism and safeguards as required by applicable data protection law. Further details may be available in the applicable customer agreement or data processing agreement.

Your rights

Depending on applicable data protection law, individuals may have rights relating to their personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection.

For information processed on behalf of a Grunddata customer, requests should normally be directed to the organisation that provided access to Grunddata. We will assist the customer as required by the applicable agreement and law.
